Entrepreneur of the Year
Melvin J. Gravely, II is the CEO and Chairman of the Board of TriVersity Construction Company, a Cincinnati, Ohio based commercial construction company. TriVersity specializes in providing construction services to large complex organizations with ongoing construction needs. Under Gravely’s leadership since 2011, the firm has grown consistently and has built a performance-based reputation. TriVersity is now one of the top 10 construction companies in the greater Cincinnati region. Gravely is the author of nine books, including When Black & White Makes Green, and his latest Dear White Friend: The Realities of Race, The Power of Relationships and Our Path to Equity.
He is an active civic leader serving multiple corporate and nonprofit organizations, including Represent OTR and CRBC - Cincinnati Regional Business Committee (former Co-Chair). Gravely has also served on the boards of Thomas More College, the United Way of Southwest Ohio, Drake Hospital, Artswave (former Vice Chair), Spring Grove Funeral Homes (former Chair), t h e Regional Economic Development Initiative (known as REDI Cincinnati) and is a former board chair of the Greater Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber.
Mel graduated from Mount Union University, with a BS in Computer Science, holds an MBA from Kent State University, and a Ph.D. from the Union Institute & University. He has received several awards and distinctions, including the Larry Albice Entrepreneurship Award, Women Mentor of the Year, Forty Under Forty Award, multiple IBM 100% Clubs, the Men of Honor Award, and the 2020 Carl H. Linder Award for Entrepreneurial and Civic Spirit.
He is married to Chandra (Webb) Gravely, a physician with UC Health. They live in Cincinnati, Ohio and have three adult children and one granddaughter.
