Ms. Racquel Redwood

Rising Star of the Year

An accomplished creative, Racquel has expertise in engineering, entrepreneurship, design thinking, strategy, coaching and consulting.

Racquel is currently a Senior Human Factors Engineer at Johnson & Johnson. In this role she leads contextual research to discover unmet user needs, create usability specifications, and develop concepts and iterative tests with stakeholders throughout the robust formative and summative usability process. In addition to her role at Johnson & Johnson, Racquel also holds the positions of Part-time Adjunct Professor at the University of Cincinnati, Part-time Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Consultant for a Government Entity and Harvard HealthTech Fellowship Team Coach.

Racquel brings more than 7 years of engineering and entrepreneurial experience. Prior to her current role at Johnson & Johnson, Racquel spent six years leading various efforts including project risk management, global validation studies, and company product pipeline strategy efforts. She was also a co-founder of a Stanford Biodesign startup company, in which she raised initial seed funding and received IRB approval for preliminary clinical studies.

Racquel holds a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati as well as a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University. Racquel also has experience as a Medtronic Labs Team Member (in Nairobi, Kenya) and is a Stanford University Biodesign Fellow Alumn.

For fun she enjoys art, bodybuilding, traveling and staying active.
